Art In Chile: A Studio Intensive
For this course students travel to Chile to participate in intensive studio classes at the Curaumilla Art Center, located 1.5 hours from Santiago.
Focus will be placed on the exploration of clay, and other 3-D media, to create forms that respond to local environments and artistic traditions. Workshops and lectures at the Art Center by Visiting Chilean Artists and Professors Randy Johnston and Dr. Kaylee Spencer. Tours to churches and galleries in Santiago will acquaint students with the rich artistic achievements of the region's indigenous, colonial past, while introducing them to Chile's thriving contemporary art scene.
